China Criminal Record Check for Expats in Xiamen

China Police Clearance Certificate is a document issued by Public Security Sub-Bureau . certifying applicant has no criminal record in China.

Applicants applying for permanent residence, employment, or immigration to other countries may be required to provide a China Police Certificate.

How to obtain the non-criminal record in China?

1. Apply for Xiamen Police Certificate at Xiamen Public Security Sub-B Xiamen Public Security Sub-Bureau checks whether the applicant has criminal records and issues the Xiamen Police Certificate/Non-Criminal Record Certificate.

2. Submit the Police Certificate to Xiamen Notary Public Office for notarization. Xiamen Notary Public issues the Notarial Certificate of Criminal Record Check.

What documents to submit?

1. Scan copy of current and previous passport photo pages, the pages with China visa, the pages with Chinese residence permit and the pages with China exit & entry stamps.(See photo page sample) (See China visa sample) (See residence permit sample)

2. If you cannot submit documents in person, you need to provide a Power of Attorney (POA) legalized by the Chinese Consulate or Embassy to nominate a representative to apply for Police Certificate/Non-Criminal Record Certificate on your behalf. Sample of POA is as follows:

Regular time: 2-3 weeks excluding mailing time.

Criminal Record Certificate unobtainable?

If you have lived in Xiamen for less than 6 months, or have never registered for residence in Xiamen, or have a criminal record in Xiamen, you may not be able to obtain Xiamen Police Clearance Certificate.

Apostille and Legalization Police Certificate
